Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive business development and sales/marketing leadership experience, preferably within content marketing, SEO, or agency environments
- Demonstrated track record of successfully scaling revenue through strategic sales and client acquisition strategies
- Deep expertise in consultative enterprise selling, sales methodologies, pipeline management, and digital marketing services
- Proficiency with CRM and sales enablement tools (ideally Pipedrive)
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities, fostering professional growth and high performance
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and sales execution
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally and align diverse stakeholders around shared business objectives
- Willingness to get hands dirty as the sales department grows and support is needed across sales functions
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan targeting high-potential high growth startup + enterprise technology accounts within content marketing, SEO, and PR
- Lead, mentor, and expand our business development team, including a current team of one account executive and one sales operations specialist
- Contribute to intro and proposal calls/buildouts and with potential clients, serving as the backup to our account executive when needed and to assist in generating additional business
- Manage the marketing strategy, aligning to the sales function using a mixture of internal agency resources and a potential future marketing hire
- Set clear performance metrics, sales objectives, and pipeline targets aligned with Siege Media's strategic growth goals
- Manage an ABM strategy with the sales operations specialist via in-person events and breakfasts/lunches with our CEO in addition to other events
- Manage relationships with high value referral partners, helping grow the channel and increase the number of referrals
- Develop an outbound sales strategy based on previous successes, leveraging high quality case studies with existing network relationships and Siege brand awareness
- Continuously refine our consultative sales approach, leveraging CRM systems and data-driven insights to optimize forecasting accuracy and sales efficiency
- Work with client services to grow existing client accounts, developing strategies to upsell and grow existing accounts with additional services
- Collaborate closely with marketing, client strategy, and executive leadership to ensure cohesive execution of client acquisition and retention initiatives
- Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders to enhance strategic opportunities and drive business growth
- Travel sporadically to conferences (3-4x/year expected) and/or engage regionally to build relationships with partners, potential and current clients
- Provide regular reporting and analysis of business development performance, pipeline status, and market trends to executive leadership
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and client-centric sales excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- Ideally located in an area where our buyer persona is prominently located, i.e. New York City, San Francisco, Austin or other U.S. tech cities
- Ideally, existing relationships with our existing potential customer base (Manager/Director/VPs of Growth/SEO/Marketing)
