Join Pleo as their Director of Enterprise Engineering and lead a team of technologists in maturing the company's technology use for effective scaling. Requirements
- Translate between business needs and technical requirements, and excel at stakeholder management and partnering across the company
- Know what great looks like for a mid-sized company with big ambitions but some constraints in terms of staffing & costs and are able to translate that into strategy
- Have some experience of preparing a company for IPO and/or experience of the expectations of a public company
- Be adept at balancing trade offs when selecting, procuring, implementing and running technical off-the-shelf solutions
- Be comfortable taking a mostly โbuyโ-focused approach, focusing the software engineering capacity of the team on stringing solutions together well and favouring configuration, rather than over-customising
- Have in-depth knowledge of application infrastructure, technical operations including vendor management, and enterprise architecture
- Be comfortable in high-pace environments and enjoy complex problem-solving with peers and team
- Enjoy helping people to achieve their potential (as a people manager)
Responsibilities
- Lead a centralised team of technologists (from analysts to solutions architects to engineers) covering all the systems that the company uses, from commercial (eg Hubspot, Clay, etc) to people systems (eg HiBob) to finance (eg Netsuite), along with day-to-day technical operations (TechOps) which is our automation-first approach to tech support for employees
- Set the Organisational Engineering Strategy for Pleo, supported by the CTO, and partnering with senior leaders across all of Pleo
- Be responsible for making sure we choose the right technical solutions for our different areas, partnering closely with stakeholders across the business
- Take us from our current great tech stack to a best-in-class stack in terms of overall cost, rapid growth enablement and process innovation, improving our profitability through efficiency (incl democratization of AI)
- Take a view on our enterprise architecture (with an Enterprise Architect reporting to you), helping to connect our third party solutions to our internal data platform and (where appropriate) our product platform
- Be the competence leader for โITโ folks spread across the business (and potentially some specialist engineers) who are helping to select, implement and run technical solutions
- Lead us through a maturation journey, as we head towards a potential IPO, especially with regards to provisioning, onboarding and offboarding through your TechOps leader
- Scan the horizon, identifying emerging technologies and evaluating partnerships to drive growth
- Ensure data security, integrity, and availability while adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, from GDPR to ISO27001, SOC2 to PCI-DSS, and more
- Nurture and mature our diverse, equitable, inclusive culture that helps all members feel like they belong
