Summary
Join data.world as an Account Executive - Federal DoD in the greater DC metro area to drive the expansion of our Public Sector client base. Reporting to the GM of Federal, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage robust marketing support. Your core responsibility will be driving new revenue growth for the data.world platform by identifying, cultivating, and maturing relationships within the federal government. You will build deep relationships with senior executives, develop and refine sales strategies, and work closely with product and marketing teams. Success requires a strategic sales approach, strong technical understanding, and experience in complex enterprise software sales, particularly within the Federal sector. This is a remote-first, flexible position with competitive compensation and benefits.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in high tech, very complex, enterprise software/SaaS sales, with a proven record of success, preferably in the data space
- 5+ years of experience selling specifically to Federal agencies, with strategic contacts and relationships throughout the ecosystem
- Proven success closing large, complex sales or strategic partnerships in a startup environment
- Located in the greater DC metro area
- Must be authorized to work in and be located in the U.S
Responsibilities
- Build deep relationships with senior executives across varying roles (both highly technical and non-technical) to close and expand business within our target market
- Develop and refine your strategy with the Sales leadership and team to exceed revenue goals
- Work closely with our product and marketing teams to identify market needs that data.world can solve
- Develop and execute customer-facing strategies to close and expand business within key decision makers' organizations
- Execute business development activities within the federal government by identifying, cultivating and maturing relationships with the necessary channels that could assist in deal creation or discovery
- Drive new revenue growth of the data.world platform business
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical understanding and background; technical degree a plus
- Self-motivated, proactive sales hunter with ability to develop and maintain strong relationships throughout the account life cycle
- Significant experience working with senior level decision-makers, particularly in IT
- Excellent communication and listening skills. ability to manage and execute all phases of the sales processes, while strategically leveraging necessary support, needed for success
- Detail-oriented and enthusiasm for solving problems in real time
- An appetite to try new things - Youβre curious and excited to improve the sales process, and are always looking to learn. You ask questions and don't shy away from challenges
- Military veterans and former federal employees are also highly desired when possible
- Willingness to travel as needed
