Summary
Join Mento, a remote-first company on a mission to increase human potential globally, as a Business Development Representative. You will be responsible for revenue generation, closing deals, and generating pipeline with mid-market and enterprise accounts. This role involves attending and hosting in-person events, fostering community within the HR space, contributing to sales strategy, and collaborating cross-functionally. Requirements
- You have 2+ years experience with mid-market and/or enterprise sales
- You have experience selling into Human Resources/People departments, or similar functional groups
- You have experience with prospecting and pipeline generation -- ideally you've been in a role responsible for lead gen
- You are a high performer. You've had standout performance in prior sales roles and a record of consistent quota attainment
- You identify yourself as a hard worker and understand the hustle it takes to win and succeed in an early-stage startup environments
- You are a hunter. You love the thrill of finding, nurturing, and winning a deal
- You have experience working within a modern Sales tech stack (AI tools, Hubspot, Sales Nav, Clay, Notion, Slack, etc.)
- You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, unstructured, startup environment
- You are a strong communicator β when working with internal and external parties, you are able to clearly articulate problems, constraints, rules, and timelines
- You live in a main metro area and have embedded networks your ready to leverage in HR or adjacent industries
- You believe in and have experienced the power of coaching and mentorship
Responsibilities
- Close deals : moving leads through the pipeline and closing deals is your number one responsibility
- Generate pipeline : generate pipeline with mid-market and enterprise accounts. You can expect some demos booked onto your calendar each month, otherwise you will be responsible for building out your own pipeline
- Attend and host in-person events : generate pipeline and foster relationships with leads via attending and hosting dinners, conferences, happy hours, and more
- Foster community within the HR space : establish yourself and Mento within the HR community by building lasting relationships, bringing people together, going to events, joining groups, and creating value for others on a regular basis
- Contribute to sales strategy : we are a learning company and have a lot of room for improvement across our sales strategy and processes! Your participation in evolving our approach to driving revenue will be welcomed and expected
- Cross-functional work : from sharing market insights to our Product and Coaching teams, to collaborating with Marketing on top of funnel strategy, to effectively passing off accounts and finding upgrade opps with Partner Success, there will be lots of cross-functional work at Mento!
- Think outside the box: get creative! Test new techniques, explore new interesting opportunities, experiment with new practices. We are not getting better if we are not pushing ourselves
