Summary
Join Jimdo's growing finance department as an experienced Accountant and contribute to building a data-driven financial function. You will support the creation of monthly and annual financial statements, participate in daily accounting operations, assist with audits, and contribute to tax filings. The role involves process improvement through automation and software implementation, collaboration with other departments, and ensuring compliance with German accounting standards (HGB). This position offers the opportunity to work remotely or in the office, with a focus on process optimization and project-based work. Requirements
- A completed degree in business administration, ideally with a focus on accounting/taxation, or further education as a Bachelor Professional in Accounting or a comparable qualification
- Sound knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and tax regulations
- Experience in a start-up, scale-up, or fast-growing environment
- High degree of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple sources of information and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work successfully in a dynamic environment
- Precise, structured, and independent work style in a remote setting
- Strong interest in new tasks and project-based work
- Hands-on mentality: Motivation and enthusiasm for designing and further developing processes and projects
- Fluent German and English skills
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB
- Contribute to daily business operations (accounts payable and receivable accounting, fixed asset accounting, national and international payments)
- Participate in the preparation and execution of the annual audit
- Support the preparation and submission of national and international VAT returns, including OSS and summary reports (ZM)
- Contribute to the integration of international subsidiaries into the group
- Evaluate and implement process and system improvements through documentation, automation, and best practices
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals and successfully implement projects
