Summary

Join ModernFi as an experienced AVP, Sales to lead and grow a high-performing team of Account Executives. You will manage daily sales execution, coach the team, and contribute to the sales culture. This role involves strategic selling to financial institutions and process improvements. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of B2B sales experience, including 2+ years in people management. A strong understanding of financial institution operations and decision-making processes is essential. Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in B2B sales, with 2+ years in a people management or frontline sales leadership role
  • Proven success managing Account Executives or a similar outbound sales team
  • Strong coaching mindset—able to develop sales reps with different experience levels and selling styles
  • Deep understanding of sales metrics and pipeline analytics; comfortable operating within Salesforce and related tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence both internally and externally
  • Prior experience selling into or working within the financial services industry—such as banking, credit unions, or fintech—is required. A strong understanding of financial institution operations and decision-making processes is essential
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change—this role requires initiative, ownership, and adaptability

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of Account Executives; foster a high-performance, feedback-driven environment
  • Oversee day-to-day sales activity, ensuring the team consistently meets or exceeds targets
  • Guide and participate in strategic sales cycles, especially for high-value or complex opportunities
  • Identify and implement improvements across outreach, pipeline management, and CRM workflows
  • Own weekly/monthly forecasting; analyze pipeline data to deliver insights and recommendations to leadership
  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Client Success to align go-to-market efforts and surface customer feedback
