Summary

The CDC Foundation is seeking a Health Program Specialist I with a background in epidemiology for the position of AS Lead. The role involves leading antimicrobial stewardship activities across various facilities, providing education to medical providers, developing and evaluating required stewardship activities, and performing data analysis.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in health science, chemistry, behavioral science, or closely related field application to the program area
• Two years of experience in epidemiology research and analysis. Knowledge of antibiotic stewardship, healthcare-associated infections, and infection prevention principles

Responsibilities

• Lead antimicrobial stewardship activities across Nevada, at acute care, long-term acute care, long-term care, and outpatient facilities to evaluate, educate, and monitor their antimicrobial stewardship capacity
• Provide medical providers education to increase monitoring, surveillance, and reporting of antibiotic use and serve as a subject matter expert for health care providers, local health department staff and the general public for multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs) and antimicrobial stewardship
