Requirements
- Education: MBA or M.A. in Hospitality or related field
- Required Experience: 4+ yrs of event management in conferences or trade shows
- Technologies: Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Asana or comparable project management suite
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Candidates must be available to work in at least 50% alignment with the Pacific Time Zone
Responsibilities
- Work closely with COO and senior management on product development, company strategy, operations and research/analysis
- Employ a hypothesis-driven approach to solve complex business problems and deliver insightful analysis of market opportunities for both current and upcoming products
- Build effective relationships with colleagues throughout the Blavity organization to support analysis of product performance based on multiple internal metrics including technical, financial, sales and strategic benchmarks
- Combine internal analysis with ongoing market research and competitive landscaping to advise pricing, partnerships and market opportunities for new and existing products
- Assist in drafting product requirements, strategic goals and mockups/prototypes for potential product innovations or strategic innovations
- Liaise with Business Operations and other departments to coordinate internship project(s)
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Experience: 2+ yrs managing people and teams
- Previous experience working in consulting, finance, media, or related high-growth start-up
- Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
- Comfort with ambiguity and a proven love for transforming unorganized/complex data into rigorously structured, insight-oriented solutions
- High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats
- Naturally detail-oriented, with an obsessive need to document and communicate findings
- A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture
