Join Nuvalent, a dynamic early-stage company focused on developing selective cancer medicines, as the Associate Director, Medical Communications & Information. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing medical communications and information tactical plans across Nuvalent's product portfolio. This role involves leading omnichannel scientific communications, medical content creation, and medical education initiatives. You will also manage Nuvalent's Medical Information process and contact center, ensuring timely and accurate responses to medical inquiries. The position requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, to deliver high-quality medical materials and programs. Success in this role demands strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, along with a deep understanding of medical communications best practices and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD/DO, NP, PA-C or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline
- 8-10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry
- 4 years of experience in Medical Communications and/or Medical Information
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing medical communications, medical information, education, and congress plans
- Experience establishing and managing a Medical Information Process or Call Center
- Demonstrated experience developing medical materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Experience managing scientific communications and medical information vendors
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of medical communications/information trends, best practices, and the evolving medical communications/information landscape
- Thorough understanding of applicable regulatory requirements for Medical Communications and Medical Information personnel and PhRMA guidelines, including geographic regulatory related guidelines
- Strong project management skills, with high attention to detail and ability to prioritize and deliver multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills required
- Up to 20% domestic travel
Responsibilities
- Establish and implement Nuvalentβs Medical Information capabilities and process, including onboarding and managing a Medical Information Contact Center
- Lead development of standard and customized Medical Information content to fulfill unsolicited Medical Information requests in a timely, accurate, thorough, and scientifically balanced manner
- Serve as a Medical Information resource for internal business partners and assure timely transfer of information and materials between the Medical Information group and other functions, including generation of Medical Information reports and dashboards as appropriate for internal stakeholders
- Develop disease state and product-specific medical materials such as slide decks, digital materials, and training materials with vendors and relevant internal stakeholders; including generation of Medical Communications reports and dashboards to drive refinement of content and alignment with medical objectives
- Ensure utilization of scientific platforms and lexicons for each product to drive consistency across all related medical materials and channels
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of medical communications/information trends, best practices, and the evolving medical communications/information landscape to identify areas for innovative resource improvement to enhance scientific engagement and deliver best-in-class programs
- Support the medical congress strategy by leading development of medical content and ensuring collaboration across Medical Affairs and other functions on the tactical execution of key congress initiatives
- Develop and execute annual Medical Communications & Information tactical plans and associated budgets; monitor and manage the assigned budget and relationships with vendors to deliver projects in alignment with timelines and defined objectives
- Contribute to medical education plans and initiatives, including participating in the review, approval, and funding of appropriate continuing medical education (CME) and sponsorship
- Become a subject matter expert in the scientific and clinical areas of interest for Nuvalent, across the entire development portfolio
- Provide process, scientific, and/or product training to internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g. Medical Information Contact Center, vendors)
- Provide high-quality medical information review of promotional and non-promotional materials; ensure materials are scientifically accurate and properly referenced; ensure materials are scientifically rigorous and presented with appropriate context
Preferred Qualifications
- Global product launch experience preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in solid tumor oncology
