You will support team members and leaders in navigating employee relations matters, ensuring legal compliance, creating and applying policies, conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and managing employee lifecycles. This Utah-based hybrid role requires 3+ years of professional/HR experience, including employee relations, and a strong understanding of employment law. The ideal candidate possesses strong critical thinking, conflict resolution, and detail-oriented skills. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years professional / HR experience, with at least 1 year of exposure to employee relations work
  • Have a strong foundational understanding of employment law best practices and have experience applying them in your daily work
  • Approach your work with the highest possible sense of confidentiality and discretion, allowing you to be entrusted with highly sensitive matters
  • Care a great deal about doing the right thing, and inspire others to do the same - even when it’s difficult. Use that integrity to fuel how you provide thoughtful pressure testing to leaders and team members when needed
  • Have a knack for asking thoughtful and well-timed questions, and look beneath the obvious when investigating important situations
  • Be a critical thinker who is well-practiced in thoroughly analyzing people situations and applying sound situational judgment
  • Have experience with conflict resolution in a professional setting
  • Have a keen eye for detail and have experience creating thorough documentation on people-related issues

Responsibilities

  • Stay up-to-date on evolving employment laws and regulations and ensure that the employee relations program remains in compliance, continuously improving as business needs change
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and update employee relations policies and procedures, in alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently interpreted and applied, and provide related guidance to leaders and team members
  • Conduct objective and thorough investigations - including ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards, documenting findings, and recommending appropriate corrective actions
  • Address and resolve workplace conflicts, disputes, and grievances in a timely manner, balancing the needs of the organization, team members and leaders
  • Collaborate with leaders to provide guidance on performance improvement, and support separations as needed
  • Work closely with HRBPs and leadership to identify and address employee relations trends and concerns, developing action plans to solve root causes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tend to avoid assumptions like the plague. Instead, exercise an abundance of caution and prefer to double- and triple-check yourself before taking major steps
  • Tend to easily notice patterns and trends in your work and are proactive about using those patterns to improve systems and solve future problems
  • When faced with multiple pressing tasks, be able to discern which ones are most critical
  • Have HR or professional experience in a variety of environments, including high-volume settings
  • Find real fulfillment in employee relations work and are excited to build a long-term career in this field
