Requirements
- A degree in the life sciences or equivalent industry experience
- Proven sales/business development experience with a track record of achieving goals on a quarterly and annual basis
- In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods
- Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship management and customer service skills
- Ability to set relevant goals and execute in a fast-moving startup environment
- Experience with managing a sales pipeline and translating that into a revenue forecast
- Strong working knowledge of the synthetic DNA market, how it is used across the biotech industry and the players in this market
- A self-starter eager to be part of building a commercial organization that will scale and grow
- Located in and authorized to work from the United Kingdom
- Ability to travel to the US for in person quarterly business review meetings
Responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience building and executing a strategic plan to build an early-stage commercial presence in the market
- Meet your sales targets by leveraging your market knowledge, lead generation activities to support new customer acquisition and relationship management techniques for developing key accounts
- Analyze customer needs to identify current and new product fit and provide voice of customer feedback to help with the planning of Elegenβs product roadmap
- Maintain and expand the client database within Europe
- Focus on and develop new key accounts that have the capability to generate consistent volumes of business
- Ensure customer success and optimize the customer journey at Elegen for your customers
- Provide ongoing input to management on sales budgets, forecasting, and sales strategies
- Participate in conferences to keep abreast of the latest developments in the European market
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed to support and grow the business
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years of sales and/or business development experience in life science industry
- A network of industry contacts that align with Elegen target markets
- Experience in a startup environment
- Strong written and verbal English language skills
