Summary

Join Persefoni, a climate software company, as a Business Development Representative and play a key role in generating new business opportunities. You will contribute to pipeline growth by working with Account Executives and Sales Leadership to identify, engage, and qualify leads. This front-line sales role involves researching potential customers, conducting discovery calls, building relationships with key decision-makers, and maintaining client information in Salesforce. You will need to demonstrate the ability to thrive under pressure and exhibit a growth mindset. This is a full-time, exempt, individual contributor role with a competitive compensation package.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in sales, business or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or similar sales role, preferably in SaaS / technology sales
  • Strong communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage and persuade potential clients
  • Self-motivated and proactive: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while contributing to team goals
  • Sales skills: Experience in cold calling, developing prospecting strategies, objection handling, and lead qualification; a strong interest in developing a career in full-cycle complex sales
  • Technically savvy: Ability to quickly learn and understand the Persefoni platform and communicate its value to prospects
  • CRM proficiency: Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms to manage leads, track activities, and report results

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential customers that align with Persefoni’s target market through outbound activities including cold calls, emails, and social media engagement to generate leads
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand client needs and qualify leads based on their fit for Persefoni’s solutions
  • Establish meaningful relationships with key decision-makers (Sustainability, Finance, Legal, IT) and foster long-term connections
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information in Salesforce & sales engagement tools, tracking all activities, touchpoints, and next steps
  • Demonstrate the ability to thrive under pressure and deliver results, especially when facing unfamiliar challenges by being resourceful, flexible, and persistent in overcoming obstacles
  • Exhibit a growth mindset by taking ownership of different aspects of the sales cycle and progress to a full-cycle account executive role
