Summary

The Chief Development Officer at Movement Voter Project is a strategic role focusing on fundraising initiatives and donor relations. The successful candidate will lead a team, develop fundraising strategies, expand the donor base, and build relationships with philanthropic partners. This individual should have experience in major gift fundraising, team management, and understanding of the regulatory differences between 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PAC organizations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in nonprofit major gift fundraising that focuses on securing large donations from individual donors, foundations, or corporations
  • Experience in developing and implementing major gift strategies and campaigns
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporate donors, and foundation representatives
  • Experience in planning and executing large-scale fundraising campaigns, including capital campaigns, endowment campaigns, or annual fund drives
  • Successful track record of significantly increasing revenue
  • Strong results-driven leadership skills, with experience managing and growing a development team
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and secure seven-figure gifts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring staff and donors alike
  • Strategic thinker with a commitment to MVP's values and a deep understanding of the political and social justice landscape
  • Proven experience in leading and managing organizational change, with the ability to adapt strategies and teams to evolving circumstances and opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive, results-oriented annual development plan
  • Lead and manage a team of staff and consultants that raise funds primarily through major gifts, foundations, and volunteer donor organizing
  • Work with the Executive Director to strategically set annual revenue goals that grow and diversify revenue streams
  • Establish performance measures; monitor and report results
  • Cultivate, secure, and manage high-level donor relationships and partnerships

Benefits

  • Compensation: $185,000-$215,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Offering generous and comprehensive benefits
