Join IT Concepts, Inc. as a Classification Specialist to support the VA ESOM contract. This remote position, supporting Eastern Time, involves managing position classification, conducting audits, and collaborating with VA ESOM. You will create and revise position descriptions, interpret staffing regulations, and assist with personnel actions. The role requires a relevant associate's degree or equivalent experience, proficiency in MS Office Suite, and strong analytical and communication skills. A Public Trust Clearance is required, and US citizenship or Green Card Holder status is mandatory. Requirements
- AA or 2-year technical school in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. (4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Accountability, Analysis and Research and Attention to Detail
- Customer Service mindset, Decision Making, Flexibility, Influencing/Negotiating
- Quick Learner with Integrity/Honesty, good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good at reading Comprehension, Reasoning, and writing
- Able to self-manage work, manage stress and show team-spirit
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
- Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder
Responsibilities
- Conduct periodic review to identify problems and recognize best practices in position management
- Ensure command-wide position classification accuracy and consistency in interpreting and applying position classification standards
- Audit classification actions in accordance with VA regulations, policies and guidance
- Explain results of classification findings and the evaluation conclusion to supervisory personnel as requested
- Collaborates with management and supervisors to create or revise position descriptions
- Documents the correct assignment of grades, legal titles, and occupational series
- Interprets and explains complex staffing regulations
- Assists with personnel actions like promotions, pay changes, and reassignments
- Conducts reviews and surveys to recommend changes to positions
- Explains classification decisions to employees, supervisors, and managers
- Evaluates position management and helps improve structure and work distribution
- Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support through close collaboration with VA ESOM Contract Workforce planning and Analytics lead
