Summary

Join ZERO TO THREE as a Communications Intern and contribute to a wide range of projects supporting our communications and marketing strategy. Collaborate with team members on media relations, social media, editorial content, marketing initiatives, and multimedia storytelling. You will contribute to real-world projects and campaigns supporting early childhood development and advocacy, using communications tools such as Canva, Google Workspace, and content management systems.

Requirements

  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with attention to voice, tone and audience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms
  • Ability to research, synthesize and present information effectively and clearly
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree (or in final semester of completion) in Writing, Journalism, English, Communications or related field

Responsibilities

  • Assist with storytelling and media engagement efforts, including preparing stories, collecting and editing assets and supporting the development of a β€œStaff Story Series”
  • Provide support for spokesperson engagement by drafting talking points, coordinating logistics and maintaining speaker bios or profiles
  • Participate in the development of internal tools and resources such as spokesperson briefings, digital welcome kits, and basic social media audits
  • Work closely with Communications Managers to write, review and copyedit content for clarity, consistency and alignment with brand voice, including web pages, newsletters, and other external communications
  • Contribute to the creation and editing of multimedia assets (e.g., images, videos, captions) for use across communications channels
  • Collaborate with the Communications team on other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with journalistic ethics and AP Style is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) or multimedia content creation is a bonus
