Join BitterBrains, creators of popular platforms like Vue School and Certificates.dev, as a Community Manager. You will foster meaningful connections with developers using social media and other platforms, lead social media strategy, and promote products and events. The ideal candidate has proven experience nurturing developer audiences, generating engaging content, and managing social media for a tech company. Excellent communication skills and a passion for creating engaging content are essential. Strong preference is given to candidates who embrace asynchronous communication and a meeting-free mindset. This is a fully remote, globally distributed role.
Requirements
- Reliable internet connection (all meetings and work is done online)
- Experience working remotely
- Ability to work in CET time zone, with core hours from 9:00 am till 6:00 pm
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies to engage developers and grow our online presence across platforms like Reddit, Medium, Stack overflow, Twitter and LinkedIn. Instagram, and TikTok is a bonus
- Craft compelling posts, create multimedia content (videos, infographics, tutorials), and share developer success stories
- Actively interact with developers, respond to comments, and participate in relevant conversations. Build relationships with key community members and influencers
- Collaborate with the community team to promote events, conferences, and workshops. Share live updates, highlights, and key moments during events
- Track social media performance metrics, generate reports, and use insights to improve strategies
- Work closely with marketing teams, and product teams to ensure consistent messaging
- Promote open-source contributions, developer tools, and community initiatives while amplifying user-generated content
- Stay updated on social media trends, developer culture, and industry news to keep our content fresh and relevant
Preferred Qualifications
- Presence on Medium, Reddit, Dev.to, Stack Overflow and other developer-related platforms is preferred
- Presence on Twitter and LinkedIn
- Proven experience on nurturing developer audiences
- Proven ability to generate engaging content for the developer community is preferred. Content may include written content, social posts, graphics and videos
- Proven experience managing social media for a tech company or developer-focused brand
- Understanding of developer communities, tools, and culture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Creativity and passion for creating engaging content tailored to developers
- Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools
- Experience in event promotion, live tweeting, or live streaming
- Strong preference for asynchronous communication: Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment, prioritizing productivity over frequent meetings, which may occur once a week or less
- Meeting-free mindset : Passionate about minimizing meeting time to enhance focus and efficiency, leveraging tools and processes that support asynchronous workflows
