Summary
Join GoodParty.org as their Content & Communications Director and lead their storytelling and messaging efforts. You will oversee all content creation, from social media and blog posts to virtual events and courses, and manage a team of content creators. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with experience in content marketing and social media, capable of crafting engaging content and managing cross-functional campaigns. You will leverage AI tools, analyze metrics, and collaborate with other departments to optimize content strategies and drive growth. - You’ve been responsible for content marketing and social media before
- You understand the use cases and dynamics of each channel
- You are strong at owning both the strategy and the execution
- You think like a producer — leveraging content strategically across platforms, getting the best out of subject matter experts, and coordinating internal and external contributors to hit deadlines with quality
- You have a sharp eye for clear writing and strong visuals
- While you might not be a designer, you know when something is off-brand and can give actionable feedback to get it on-brand
- You’re skilled at using AI tools for your work and coaching team members on how to leverage AI even more effectively while ensuring quality
- You have experience managing and mentoring a team to help each person grow while executing at a high level
- You have experience integrating a tech product, features, and offerings seamlessly into content
- You focus on what matters — the right headline, hook, and keywords to maximize discoverability across search and social
- You’ve led or collaborated closely on PR strategies and communications for proactive visibility and responsive crisis communications
- You’re organized, decisive, collaborative, and always thinking one step ahead
- You like connecting with users to surface stories and shape content that will help them
- Your choices are informed by audience needs
Responsibilities
- Tell the story of tens of thousands of independent civic heroes who are proving what’s possible outside the two-party system through compelling, useful, and actionable content
- Develop and unify our brand, logo (red, bright and blue!), voice, and messaging across the organization — shaping storytelling that resonates, increases authority, and builds momentum for the movement
- Oversee all content — from blogs, newsletters, and social media to virtual events, courses, and community-driven campaigns
- Lead and manage our social and content marketing team members and contractors who create content across platforms
- Act as executive producer for all content, turning information into cross-channel marketing campaigns that drive high engagement, value, and growth
- Serve as chief editor for all content, bringing attention to detail and high standards that uplevels our online presence and offerings
- Leverage internal subject matter experts on campaigns and public service as well as partner organizations to create engaging, useful content for candidates and elected officials
- Partner closely with the Growth department on integrated go-to-market efforts, including lead magnets, webinars, SEO content, and lifecycle communications
- Run a comprehensive content calendar that supports the full user journey from candidate discovery to running, winning, and serving
- Level up AI tools usage across marketing, communications and content creation in order to scale operation
- Use metrics and qualitative insights to optimize content strategies and increase our reach, engagement, and funnel conversion
- Report to the Chief Operating Officer
Preferred Qualifications
- You’ve collaborated on cross-functional campaigns with Growth Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, and/or Product teams and know how to bring alignment across surfaces
- You've got experience with tools like Circle, Descript, and HubSpot
- You’ve got experience studying, working, or volunteering in politics, civics, or democracy reform
- You’re sick of sitting on the sidelines watching our democracy fail to meet its potential
