Summary
Join AbbVie as a Director and help identify AI solutions to enhance clinical and development performance. You will lead AI projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with R&D priorities. Requirements
- Advanced degree with 10+ years of experience in clinical development, data analytics, and AI applications
- Experience leading successful AI projects in a clinical or biomedical domain
- Deep understanding of clinical trial processes and challenges, with the ability to translate these into AI solutions
- Strong background in AI, machine learning, and data science, with practical experience applying these in clinical settings
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with regulatory environments and compliance requirements related to AI in clinical trials
- Experience managing projects with complex, multidisciplinary teams and budgets
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive change in a large, matrixed organization
- Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and developing direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment
Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, execution, implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of AI solutions that enhance clinical trial performance, speed, quality, and efficiency
- Translate clinical and therapeutic needs into AI-driven solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic R&D priorities
- Collaborate closely with scientists, clinicians, study teams, and AI specialists to prioritize and lead AI projects
- Ensure alignment and coordination of AI initiatives with existing programs such as Convergence and Quantum Leap
- Manage resource allocation, project budgets, and deliverables to ensure substantial ROI and impactful outcomes
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and best practices in AI application within clinical trial contexts
- Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and methodologies to inform strategic decision-making
- Act as a strategic consultant on AI integration within therapeutic areas to solve complex clinical challenges
- Influence the talent strategy within the assigned function/therapeutic area to continually enhance the digital skills and acumen of scientists and leaders to align with the Convergence data integration strategy
- Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports to foster a high-performing team environment, ensuring alignment with project goals and professional growth objectives
