Requirements

  • 8+ years of managing, building, and scaling Sales Engineering teams across different segments, ideally including experience managing across different geographies
  • 7+ years in a B2B, API-based, SaaS technical Sales Engineering role
  • Proven track record of mentoring others both interpersonally and via growth and development initiatives
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a passion for solving problems with scalable processes
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, or similar languages, and UNIX-based operating systems
  • Experience with Force Management, Command of the Message
  • Able to travel up to 25% (in a post-COVID world)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 8 Sales Engineers globally, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance coaching
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the sales engineering function
  • Collaborate with the sales leadership team to develop and execute effective sales strategies
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the sales team, providing technical expertise, product knowledge, and solution guidance throughout the sales cycle
  • Build the value engineering function into a world class capability
  • Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, and proofs-of-concept to prospects and customers
  • Collaborate with the product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on product enhancements
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings
  • Provide the executive team with regular reporting and analysis on sales engineering activities, metrics, and performance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to payments or fraud prevention
  • Experience and familiarity with AI/ML platforms and technologies
