Summary
Join SmartBear as an Enterprise Solutions Engineer and become a technical expert, advising enterprise sales representatives on our industry-leading API product suite. You will lead with creative solutions, develop compelling product demonstrations, and strategize for successful POCs. This role involves engaging senior leaders, crafting the SmartBear story, and collaborating with various teams. You will own all components of technical wins, including RFPs and demo environments. Occasional travel (up to 10%) is required. This is a remote role with a preference for candidates near the Somerville, MA office.
Requirements
- Technical degree (CS or CE), or coding bootcamp certificate of completion coupled with strong practical experience in tech industry
- 5+ years working with APIs and backend systems
- A record of solving technical problems with code
- Hands-on experience with some of the following: OAS, Async, Kafka / RabbitMQ, API virtualization, Unit testing frameworks (Junit, Jest, xUnit, NUnit etc), GraphQL, CI/CD tooling
- Experience working directly with customers or internal clients to resolve technical issues in a solution/sales engineering role, or similar (TAM, Dev Advocacy, etc)
- Skilled in demonstrating and presenting to senior leadership (SVP and C-level)
- Your first inclination for solving a problem is to talk with the people involved, and brainstorm as a group
- Willingness to travel if needed, up to 10% of the time
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise sales reps, showcasing the value of our solutions
- Tackle technical challenges with creative solutions that are built on the SmartBear advantage
- Develop and deliver compelling, engaging, and inspiring product demonstrations, webinars, and videos
- Partner with sales reps to navigate complex POCs and develop winning account strategies
- Build relationships with executive level sponsors by bridging the gap between technology solutions and business outcomes
- Work with sales reps to go beyond the tools by crafting and communicating the SmartBear story effectively
- Work closely with Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Adoption teams to drive product success and customer satisfaction after the deal closes
- Assume responsibility for all components of the technical win by completing RFPs, building POC checklists, tailored demo environments, etc
- Represent our solutions at industry events, trade shows, and customer on-sites (up to 10% travel)
