Join Spotlight Sports Group, a global media and technology company, as the Head of Marketing, leading the marketing strategy for their B2C brands, including Racing Post, MyRacing, and Free Super Tips. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a marketing strategy, driving audience growth, and managing the marketing budget. This role involves leading the social, brand, campaigns, and SEO functions, ensuring they work effectively together to achieve shared growth objectives. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including content, video, and product teams, to align efforts and achieve shared growth objectives. The Head of Marketing will provide leadership and mentorship to the marketing team, ensuring a high-performing, growth-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Highly numerate and data-driven, with experience in analysing data to derive insights and inform decision-making, including proficiency with platforms like Google Analytics
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams efficiently while clearly communicating deadlines, performance metrics, and challenges
  • Experienced leader, skilled in managing and developing high-performance teams to deliver results
  • Proactively seeks constructive feedback, takes initiative, and works with a sense of urgency to meet objectives
  • Proven ability to drive change by improving performance and adapting to dynamic business and market conditions
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing strategies and initiatives that align with business goals
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, social media, and analytics, with the ability to apply insights to enhance marketing effectiveness
  • Familiarity with UK regulatory frameworks, including ASA guidelines for advertising and gambling promotion
  • Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, fostering collaboration and alignment across teams and departments

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy for our B2C brands, with a strong focus on understanding and delivering for specific audience cohorts. This understanding must extend to analysing the value, potential, and behavior of different audience cohorts to drive engagement, conversion rates, and maximise long-term growth opportunities
  • Be the internal expert on audience activity and trends, proactively identifying future challenges and opportunities to inform strategic decisions and drive growth
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and line management to the Head of SEO, Campaigns Manager, and Senior Content Marketing Manager,Β  fostering a high-performing, growth-oriented team. The role will have over 10 direct and indirect reports
  • Analyse marketing performance through data-driven methods, providing actionable insights to improve campaign outcomes and refine audience segmentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments but particularly content, video, and product teams to align efforts and achieve shared growth objectives
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns across all channels, ensuring seamless delivery with a focus on owned media while strategically leveraging earned and paid media
  • Own the creative and brand direction, ensuring all visual identity and messaging resonate with target audiences while maintaining consistency
  • Ensure compliance and integrity across all marketing activities, aligning with regulations and responsible data practices
  • Monitor emerging trends and technologies to identify opportunities that align with business goals and audience interests
  • Ensuring that all marketing initiatives retain safer gambling at their heart, demonstrating a responsible approach that aligns with the group's values and industry standards

Preferred Qualifications

Solid understanding of UK horse racing is beneficial
