Head Of Solutions Engineering, Pre-sales

Summary

Join Redpanda's growing Pre-Sales Solutions Engineering team as a Director! Lead and mentor a global team of Solutions Engineers, focusing on educating prospective customers and leading proof-of-concepts (POCs). Partner with Customer Success, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams. Overcome technical sales challenges and gather new product requirements. Attract, hire, and develop the Solutions Engineering team. Provide technical assistance and guidance to the sales team to close business. This role requires 3+ years of management experience in field engineering and 5+ years selling enterprise software. A technical background in distributed systems and/or storage systems is essential. Requirements

• 3+ years of management experience in field engineering
• 5+ years of experience of selling enterprise software
• Technical background in distributed systems and/or storage systems
• Ability to present and talk with prospects and handle objections
• Deep understanding of the sales process
• Experience with building reports in SQL and SFDC

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Solutions Engineers across the globe supporting the sales organization
• Be responsible for tracking all POCs and work with the team to overcome any challenges
• Work closely with Product and Engineering to help gather requirements from prospects to help unlock additional revenue
• Attract, hire, and develop the Solutions Engineering team as the company continues to grow and scale
• Be a strong, close partner to the sales team, providing them the technical assistance and guidance needed to help close business

• Experience with Apache Kafka
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with C++, Go, Java, Python

Benefits

• U.S. base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $240,000, not including bonus and/or commission
