Summary

Join Stripe's Climate team as a Market Development Lead and play a crucial role in scaling carbon removal solutions. You will focus on dramatically growing the global market for carbon dioxide removal (CDR), owning policy and regulatory aspects of the offtake diligence process, and supporting ecosystem initiatives. This role demands exceptional policy and regulatory intuition, a proven ability to achieve ambitious goals, strong judgment, and the ability to navigate a rapidly evolving field. A BA or BS degree and 7-10+ years of relevant experience in policy and regulations are required. A strong network of policymakers and NGOs, deep understanding of carbon removal technologies, and experience in climate tech and policy are preferred.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree
  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience in policy & regs
  • A track record of conceiving of and implementing ambitious policy initiatives
  • Off-the-charts stakeholder management intuition
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills - especially adept at translating technical jargon into layman’s terms and summarizing complex concepts in a succinct manner

Responsibilities

  • Dramatically grow the global market for CDR
  • Own the policy/regs components of our offtake diligence process
  • Support ecosystem initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong existing network of policymakers and NGOs
  • Deep understanding of the landscape of carbon removal technologies
  • Experience working at the intersection of climate tech and policy (even if not CDR specifically)
  • You’re an exceptionally fast learner. You enjoy (and have experience) quickly ramping on new technical topics
  • You’re uniquely good at getting to the crux of an issue, and can quickly sort the signal from the noise
  • You are low ego, and have a proven track record for working well across teams and with external partners
  • You must be based in the United States. Washington, D.C. is preferred. We cannot support relocation for this role
