Summary

Join Prowess Consulting as a part-time Communications professional, working remotely with a focus on media relations, brand reputation management, and internal communications. You will serve as a liaison between teams, ensuring employee support during workplace evolution. Responsibilities include supporting client communication, aligning media relations efforts with key messaging, reviewing materials for brand voice consistency, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires 10+ years of experience in communications, with a focus on media relations and issues management, and 5+ years in a large corporation (preferably tech). Strong communication, copywriting, project management, and interpersonal skills are essential. The position offers a competitive salary ($83,000-$103,000 annually) and benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan (for 30+ hours/week). The role is 20-32 hours per week and requires residence in one of the specified states.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, with a focus on media relations and issues management or brand reputation communications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a large corporation, with a preference in tech
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
  • Proven experience in managing media relations, including drafting press releases, handling media inquiries, and preparing spokespeople for interviews
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain brand voice and reputation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically and align communication efforts with organizational goals
  • Experience in crisis communication and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison to align communication efforts across teams while ensuring employees feel supported as their workplace evolves
  • Support alignment calls, project update discussions, email response, etc. with the ability to recognize corporate communications review and/or participation
  • Using an understanding of the media landscape, ensure statements, spokespeople, internal emails, etc. are aligned to pre-approved key messaging
  • Review materials, statements, publicly submitted materials, etc. through the lens of brand voice and reputation management

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with communication tools and platforms
