Summary

Join ScholarshipOwl, a rapidly growing marketplace connecting students with scholarships, as their Marketing Team Lead. You will build and execute the marketing function, driving both B2C (student acquisition) and B2B (brand partnerships) growth. This role requires a fast-paced startup mindset, expertise in paid and organic growth strategies, and the ability to build a scalable marketing function from the ground up. You will oversee content marketing, lead generation, social media, influencer marketing, and performance marketing across multiple channels. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in B2C and B2B marketing, data analysis, and team leadership. ScholarshipOwl offers a remote work environment, unlimited PTO, and a monthly home office stipend.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing experience in a startup, marketplace, or high-growth environment
  • Proven track record in both B2C and B2B marketing (experience in a two-sided marketplace is a plus)
  • Strong hands-on experience with paid acquisition, performance marketing, and SEO
  • Experience managing social media, influencer, and affiliate marketing programs
  • Expertise in lead generation, demand generation, and account-based marketing (ABM)
  • Deep understanding of growth hacking strategies, viral loops, and referral programs
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with experience using Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, and CRM tools (HubSpot etc.)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Customer Success
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a content marketing strategy that includes blogs, case studies, social media, and video content
  • Oversee email marketing, lead nurturing, and thought leadership campaigns
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and storytelling across all channels
  • Develop B2B demand generation campaigns to attract brands and advertisers
  • Manage LinkedIn ads, account-based marketing (ABM), and content-driven lead nurturing
  • Work closely with the sales team to generate high-quality leads and optimize conversion rates
  • Develop and execute a full-funnel marketing strategy to drive student sign-ups (B2C) and brand partnerships (B2B)
  • Manage paid acquisition campaigns across Google Ads, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Optimize conversion funnels, landing pages, and ad creatives to maximize CAC/LTV efficiency
  • Use SEO and organic growth strategies to increase traffic and engagement
  • Run A/B testing and data-driven optimizations to improve performance
  • Build and execute an organic and paid social media strategy across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube)
  • Develop engaging, viral content and drive community growth & brand engagement
  • Oversee content calendar, audience engagement, and social media analytics
  • Develop and manage influencer marketing campaigns to drive student sign-ups
  • Identify, recruit, and manage affiliates and referral partners to drive organic growth
  • Track influencer and affiliate performance, optimizing for engagement and conversion
  • Track key performance metrics (CAC, LTV, CPA, ROI, retention, etc.) and optimize marketing strategies accordingly
  • Use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, HubSpot, and marketing dashboards to measure success
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to the executive team
  • Work closely with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to align marketing with business goals
  • Hire, manage, and develop a small but high-impact marketing team as the company scales
  • Manage external vendors, freelancers, and marketing partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience launching a mobile app marketing strategy
  • Knowledge of gamification, community-driven marketing, and viral growth strategies
  • Experience with partnership marketing (e.g., working with universities, brands, or media partners)
