Summary
Join ActBlue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building cutting-edge technology for Democratic victories and progressive causes, as a Program Manager. This senior individual contributor role involves designing, leading, and executing key organization-wide initiatives, aligning programs with long-term goals, and coordinating cross-functional execution. The Program Manager will lead complex programs, serve as a strategic advisor, build program plans, mitigate risks, and foster stakeholder alignment. Mentoring project managers and continuously evaluating programs for improvement are also key responsibilities. Requirements
- Minimum of 6-10+ years of experience in cross-functional project management
- Proven track record of supporting executive leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to introduce tooling into the program management process (AirTable preferred)
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools and experience managing complex projects and programs
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
- High emotional intelligence and discretion, particularly in handling sensitive or confidential information
- Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic program development by defining goals, success metrics, scope, and benchmarks for initiatives that support ActBlueβs organizational and operational goals
- Drive execution across multiple departments, coordinating interdependent projects and ensuring alignment with long-term priorities
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, enabling clear communication, decision-making, and accountability across departments
- Develop tools, templates, and planning resources that establish standards and improve program management practices across the organization
- Build and manage detailed program plans, including timelines, budgets, milestones, and resource allocation strategies
- Identify and mitigate program risks, proactively resolving issues and navigating tradeoff decisions with senior stakeholders
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to executive leaders, providing insight and analysis on program performance, organizational trends, and continuous improvement opportunities
- Foster stakeholder alignment, bringing together diverse perspectives and leading through influence in high-stakes, high-visibility contexts
- Mentor and support project managers and team leads, sharing best practices and elevating program execution capabilities across the organization
- Continuously evaluate programs using data and stakeholder feedback, adapting strategies and approaches to improve impact and efficiency
