Payroll Specialist

Summary

Join Avail Infrastructure Solutions as a Payroll Specialist and ensure accurate and timely employee payroll processing. You will manage deductions, maintain compliance with tax laws, and handle payroll-related inquiries. This fully remote position, based on Eastern Standard Time, reports to the Payroll Manager. Requirements

2+ year of payroll experience, or relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
• Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
• Working knowledge of compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
• Assist with tax notices and working with TPA for quarterly and annual filings
• Working knowledge of related payroll laws and understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
• Maintains payroll records, prepares reports for management, or to meet legislative obligations
• Ensures payments comply with collective bargaining agreements, legislation, or other regulatory instruments
• Prepares and distributes pay information to employees and answer questions regarding payroll matters
• Create and maintain payroll instructions, including Standard Operating Procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
