Summary

Join our mission-driven team as the People Operations Manager, guiding the team with coaching and direction on people operations workflow, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, leave of absence management, compliance, and employee engagement. This is a temporary position with a 4-month term length, remote, California-based full-time role reporting to the VP of People Operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR experience with at least 3 of those years as an HRBP and current PHR or SPHR certification
  • Deep knowledge of EEO, FMLA, and ADA processes
  • Experience with benefits management
  • Knowledgeable about employment laws and regulations across several states in the U.S
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (experience with Paylocity is a bonus)

Responsibilities

  • Be the lead for two people operations professionals, ensuring alignment of people operations processes and departmental goals
  • Oversee leave of absence requests, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and company policies
  • Be the primary contact for employee relations matters, providing counsel to employees and managers on conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and performance issues
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Support the VP of People Operations when needed
