Summary

Join Snif, a fast-growing fine fragrance company, as their Procurement and Inventory Manager. You will play a key role in the Operations department, leading the strategy, execution, tracking, and quality of inventory from purchase order to finished goods. Responsibilities include purchasing, vendor communication, planning, pricing negotiations, supply chain optimization, and on-time deliveries. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, collaboration, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The position is remote, with occasional travel. Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing. Expertise in beauty, contract manufacturing, or the like is preferred; relevant experience in management consulting or in an e-commerce/DTC/retail environment is a major plus
  • Knowledge of consumer goods component and packaging manufacturing and terminology
  • Innate ability to breakdown complex problems or processes down to the fundamentals in order to execute thoughtfully and efficiently
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into simple, real-world outcomes and goals
  • Next-level time management and project management skills. You’re a pro at taking on a project and owning it until completion
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills that support developing and maintaining real, trusting relationships with third-party vendors
  • Comfortability with direct communication, negotiating, and urgent problem-solving
  • Eagerness to roll-up your sleeves with a “figure it out” mentality

Responsibilities

  • Own the procurement function at Snif from beginning to end - purchasing and order management through end delivery of all work-in-progress goods and finished product
  • Own and operate our procurement and purchasing system
  • Audit and optimize our existing vendor purchasing tracking systems
  • Consistently communicate with partners to place and track all purchase orders
  • Project manage every order open with vendors and understand impact of these purchases on inventory balances
  • Nurture longstanding relationships with vendor network to encourage flexibility, exceptional products, and optimal challenge resolution
  • Collaborate with our Director of Finance and our Operations Supply Planner to make informed, strategic purchases on an ongoing basis
  • Partner with Product Development to seamlessly transition projects from new development into production with critical milestones in mind
  • Own all domestic and international freight efforts from manufacturer to final delivery location while optimizing for cost and efficiency
  • Evaluate operational impact and negotiate vendor pricing on a monthly cadence
  • Support manufacturing expansion across multiple international facilities for high-volume products, considering cost, lead times, growth, and quality
  • Own DTC Inventory updates from 3PL to Website to ensure 100% in-stock of all key SKUs
  • Complete weekly inventory audits across channel inventories and proactively communicate low inventory and sellouts to the team
  • Partner with retail and planning teams to ensure inventory availability for all replenishments and key programs
  • Collaborate with vendors to create and manage SKU#’s and Bill of Materials
  • Manage master SKU/Bundle summary, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date internal data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with purchasing platforms and systems
  • Experience/passion for scented products, including (but not limited to) fragrance, candles, and laundry categories
