Summary

Join our team as a Proposal Manager supporting the Business Development team! This hybrid, full-time, mid-level role is primarily remote with occasional travel to the National Capital area. You will develop compliant, high-quality, and timely proposal content for DoD and Federal customers. The position demands strong proposal management expertise and the ability to adapt new concepts throughout the proposal lifecycle. A minimum of 8 years of experience in Federal proposal writing and management is required, along with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat are essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience writing and managing proposals for major Federal agencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Professional Writing, Creative Writing, or a related field (or an additional 4 years of experience in proposal writing/managing may be substituted for the degree)
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and proactive communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in project management functions, including resource planning, scheduling, and task delegation
  • Proficiency in technical writing/editing
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • Knowledge of version control management practices and technologies
  • Ability to obtain a US DoD Government Clearance at Secret level or higher
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Develop compliant, high-quality, and timely proposal content for DoD and Federal customers
  • Apply new concepts and skills throughout the proposal lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manage and lead proposal efforts throughout the entire proposal lifecycle
  • Coordinate efforts across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Organize and manage meetings
  • Train, coach, and mentor BD team members
  • Plan, schedule, and manage proposal development efforts and proposal plans
  • Create and maintain a proposal filing system in a SharePoint portal
  • Develop document outlines and compliance matrices
  • Create writing templates, outlines, PowerPoint slides, schedules, and other tools to ensure quality results
  • Document and maintain proposal processes
  • Ensure proposal compliance and responsiveness
  • Ensure proposal materials are properly formatted for final production/submission
  • Edit proposal sections per internal corporate writing guidelines
  • Create document content through interviews with subject matter experts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
