Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison support between all cross functional departments
  • Work closely with other departments to develop an in-depth knowledge of the company’s operations
  • Supervise the monthly financial close process, ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded
  • Ensure timely and accurate accounting for all accounting related activities throughout the month end close cycle
  • Supervise sales contracts processing and customer billings, monitor Accounts Receivable Aging
  • Supervise the processing of monthly sales commission payments and ensure accuracy of employee data as it relates to commissions
  • Supervise accounts payable and employee expense reimbursements processes
  • Resolve discrepancies or irregularities found in records, statements, or documented transactions
  • Assist with treasury management, including annual and monthly reviews of Departmental Budgets
  • Own the development and implementation of Accounting procedures
  • Play a pivotal role with continuous improvement of control environment
  • Provide Accounting Support to other Departments
  • Oversee the work of junior staff

We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team! The Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing accounting and finance related duties on a professional level and will work closely with the Department and CFO in supporting SmartBug Media’s operations. The Accounting Manager will provide support to the Finance function as needed, including supervising month-end close, financial planning, analysis, and reporting and will be responsible for managing a team remotely and their workload.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as liaison support between all cross functional departments, including operations, client services, paid media, PR, Production, Development, Marketing and sales teams to answer questions and provide accurate findings
  • Work closely with other departments to develop an in-depth knowledge of the company’s operations in order to provide accurate reporting
  • Supervise the monthly financial close process, ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation, including Cash, Accounts Receivable, Prepaid Assets, Fixed Assets, Intangible Assets, Accounts Payable, Accrued Liabilities, Debt, and EquityEnsure timely and accurate accounting for all accounting related activities throughout the month end close cycle, including but not limited to variance analysis
  • Supervise sales contracts processing and customer billings, monitor Accounts Receivable Aging, working with client service teams on past due balances
  • Supervise the processing of monthly sales commission payments and ensure accuracy of employee data as it relates to commissionsSupervise accounts payable and employee expense reimbursements processes
  • Resolve discrepancies or irregularities found in records, statements, or documented transactions
  • Assist with treasury management, including annual and monthly reviews of Departmental Budgets

  • Provide Accounting Support to other DepartmentsOther responsibilities as assigned, including special ad-hoc projects.
