Remote Buyer

Summary

Join our team as a Project Buyer and contribute to project teams by understanding products, equipment, and services required, working with vendors and subcontractors, and developing relationships to solidify our understanding of their abilities and capacity. You will grow your understanding of materials and services required in material handling construction, purchase quality materials, procure on-site rentals, manage transport, and resolve discrepancies.

Requirements

• You're organized and can switch between tasks/projects quickly without missing deadlines
• You're helpful and have a customer-service mindset
• You're a good communicator, whether via phone calls, email, or text
• You're assertive and able to have hard conversations
• You're comfortable with Microsoft Office products (primarily Teams, Outlook, Excel)
• You have some experience in the material handling, construction, or similar industries

Responsibilities

• Grow your understanding of the types of materials and services required in material handling construction, as well as with our established suppliers
• Purchase quality materials, equipment, and services from established suppliers through purchase orders and subcontracts in DCS systems
• Procure and manage on site rentals and consumables, as well as arrange for disposal of surplus materials
• Work with 3PLs to arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery
• Resolve any discrepancies in quantity/quality of materials or services received with suppliers, escalating to management when necessary
