Requirements

  • Prior executive level software delivery experience within an enterprise organization, professional services consultancy, government agency - or some combination of all three
  • Has developed infrastructure to support high functioning delivery from development to deployment of large scale complex user centered software
  • Understands technical project management / program management within /across cross-functional teams
  • Experience influencing client relationships by forming strategic partnerships that drive continued project opportunities
  • Comfortable supervising, coaching and empowering Portfolio Directors, delivery leaders, and project leads within a fully remote environment
  • Ability to assess and define project delivery and performance metrics that are consistently monitored, measured and reported on across all projects and teams
  • Consistently able to manage client expectations, ensure delivery, and exceed expectations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including engaging presentations that incorporate a persuasive vision, and focus on relationship building and an empathetic approach with clients
  • Deep understanding of current software best practices, including continuous integration / continuous deployment, design / architectural patterns, well-architected framework, security and compliance, agile methodologies, incorporating AI systems, and the DevOps mindset
  • A collaborative mindset, a willingness to seek differing opinions, and work in partnership, internally within Truss as well as externally with our partners and clients
  • Has supported strategic initiatives to develop talent as it pertains to future growth and delivery objectives and goals

Responsibilities

  • Delivering successful outcomes in three key areas: Client project portfolios have the structure, systems, and vision they need to be successful
  • Continuous Improvement processes are in place to understand the needs of practitioners and project teams, and innovations are developed and guidance given to ensure they have what they need to be successful
  • Delivery roadblocks or issues are identified and resolved quickly based on recommendations and collaboration with discipline experts
  • Succession planning and coordination occurs to ensure continuity of delivery on client projects
  • Partnerships with clients, peer organizations, and internal leadership are maintained to drive long-term positive impact
  • Collaboration across departments yields improved outcomes for employees and clients
  • Metrics are established to support desired outcomes and client impact, which are in line with company goals and philosophy
  • Strategic planning and partnership with existing clients supports expansion of existing work, and identification of new work
  • Truss has strategic direction and systems to support the development of new areas of practice specialization
  • Industry context is built and depth of understanding developed to see what clients will be needing in the future
  • Strategic recommendations are given for where to invest in developing skill and specialization, and training programs deployed as needed
