Join Aprio's Outsourced Accounting team as a Senior Accountant and help clients maximize their opportunities. Lead the monthly close process for government contracting clients, train and oversee Staff Accountants, and handle complex tasks. This role requires a 4-year accounting degree, 2-4 years of experience in government contracting accounting, and proficiency in various software and skills. Requirements
- 4 Year Accounting degree required
- 2-4 Years' experience in Accounting in the government contracting industry
- Superior time management and organization skills
- Proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a highly flexible, remote model utilizing MS Teams
- Desire to provide top quality customer service
Responsibilities
- Establish and foster positive relationships with clients
- Ensure timely communication as to project status both internally and externally
- Work as part of a team to provide outsourced accounting services for multiple clients, and review the work of junior staff
- Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, GAAP based financial statement packages and supporting analytical worksheets
- Preparation and oversight of client invoicing. Must have a comprehensive understanding of billing requirements for federal contractors
- Work closely with tax and audit associates to ensure GAAP accounting and tax accounting is accurate
- Become technically proficient in several cloud-based accounting software systems
- Prepare and review monthly close entries including payroll, fringe, prepaid and liability accruals
- Work independently in a highly flexible, remote model utilizing MS Teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with QuickBooks, Unanet, and/or CostPoint preferred
