Remote Senior Accountant

Summary

Join Aprio's Outsourced Accounting team as a Senior Accountant to lead the monthly close process for clients in the Government Contracting sector. This role involves training junior staff, completing complex tasks, and working with engagement managers to provide superior customer service.

Requirements

• 4 Year Accounting degree required
• 2-4 Years' experience in Accounting in the government contracting industry
• Experience with QuickBooks, Unanet, and/or CostPoint preferred
• Superior time management and organization skills
• Proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Establish and foster positive relationships with clients
• Ensure timely communication as to project status both internally and externally
• Work as part of a team to provide outsourced accounting services for multiple clients, and review the work of junior staff
• Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, GAAP based financial statement packages and supporting analytical worksheets
• Preparation and oversight of client invoicing. Must have a comprehensive understanding of billing requirements for federal contractors
• Work closely with tax and audit associates to ensure GAAP accounting and tax accounting is accurate
• Become technically proficient in several cloud-based accounting software systems
• Prepare and review monthly close entries including payroll, fringe, prepaid and liability accruals
