Routing Specialist

Summary

Join Sofar Ocean Technologies, a company dedicated to connecting the world's oceans through marine weather sensor technology. As a member of the Wayfinder team, you will play a mission-critical role in supporting ship routing, managing data and service products, assisting the ocean science team, and improving internal tooling. This remote position, based in the APAC region, requires strong communication, time management, and independent work skills. The ideal candidate possesses experience in the shipping or maritime industry, data analysis, and excellent communication skills. Requirements

• Have experience working in the shipping or maritime industry, specifically with ship or weather routing
• Be comfortable with data analysis, modern web applications, and Python
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, having communicated with customers around the globe
• Have experience working with team members across time zones
• Have a passion for and/or connection to the oceans
• Be able to work five 8-hour shifts per week (either Thursday-Monday schedule or Tuesday-Saturday schedule)

Responsibilities

• Perform ship routing support
• Perform critical operational tasks for data and service products
• Assist the ocean science team in managing new data sources for analysis
• Help improve internal tooling
• Communicate with team members in San Francisco headquarters

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess data visualization skills
• Be able to speak multiple languages
