Summary

Join Newsela as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) and contribute to the company's growth by researching, prospecting, and qualifying leads. You will be responsible for responding to inbound inquiries, conducting proactive cold outreach, and providing online product demonstrations. This role involves collaborating with the sales organization to enhance sales performance and representing Newsela's educational products to potential customers. You will play a key role in identifying key customer needs and generating qualified opportunities for the sales team. Your feedback will also help shape future product enhancements. The position offers a base salary of $55,000, on-target commission of $25,000, and incentive stock options.

Requirements

  • Have 1+ year of lead generation or inside sales experience
  • Pipeline generation experience includes engaging prospects through email and phone conversations that lead to qualified meetings
  • Leverage your Salesforce.com experience and sales process training to tactfully manage a pipeline to meet and exceed team goals
  • Be familiar with sales platforms such as Salesloft, Outreach.io, or Yesware
  • Be an excellent communicator who can truly empathize with the challenges our different buyers face
  • Be able to establish clear value propositions that connect buyer/user needs to the product and services we offer
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and use your creativity when partnering with team members to ensure flawless execution

Responsibilities

  • Research, prospect through calls and emails, and qualify leads in order to build pipeline for Sales Reps
  • Respond to inbound inquiries
  • Conduct proactive cold outreach to potential new customers
  • Provide online product demonstrations that draw prospects into initial discovery calls and identify key needs that ultimately lead to qualified opportunities for our Sales team
  • Collaborate within the Sales organization to inform strategy and process that enhances sales performance

Benefits

  • Base salary: $55,000
  • On-target commission: $25,000
  • On-target earnings: $80,000
  • Incentive stock options
