Summary

Join Turnitin as a Sales Development Representative to generate and qualify sales leads for our Integrity and Assessment product portfolio. You will research potential customers, primarily in higher and secondary education, and build relationships to identify their needs and position appropriate solutions. This role involves utilizing Salesforce, emails, and phone calls to nurture leads and progress them through the sales funnel until they are ready for a sales account executive. You will also identify best practices to refine lead generation activities and report results to the sales manager. This is a key partner role to the account executives, enabling them to focus on closing deals. The position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, along with experience in outbound prospecting and CRM software.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • 2+ years experience as a sales development representative with a track record of achieving lead/sales quotas
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in initiating and nurturing relationships with potential customers using targeted outbound prospecting techniques
  • Full proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Flawless communication skills, both oral and written communication, and comfortable speaking in public
  • Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member, sending email and doing phone calls every day
  • Have a strong work ethic and are eager to learn and make new connections with prospects
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications while keeping track of dead-end leads
  • Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Turnitin product portfolio, starting with a comprehensive understanding and leading to research potential for higher education, secondary education and corporate customers to identify how our solutions could meet their needs
  • Generate leads and build relationships by nurturing warm prospects and finding new potential sales opportunities
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and engage sales account executives for next steps
  • Identify best practices to refine the companyโ€™s lead generation activities
  • Utilise SalesForce, emails and follow up with phone calls to generate new sales opportunities
  • Follow designated global processes for tracking and moving leads through the sales funnel
  • Identify prospect's needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the higher and secondary education market
  • Set up mutual discovery meetings between (prospective) customers and sales account executives
  • Report to the sales manager with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of sales experience in a SaaS and/or Ed Tech environment preferred
  • 2+ years proficiency with SalesForce or other CRM is ideal
  • Additional European language is a plus
  • 1+ years selling in Ed Tech or SaaS industries is a plus
