Sales Director

Summary

The job is for a Sales Director, Genomic Applications in the West region at Ultima Genomics. The role involves leading sales efforts, creating and executing territory plans, maintaining customer relationships, and contributing to the overall sales strategy.

Requirements

• BS in Biology or related field, with a PhD preferred
• Extensive experience in genomics, NGS, and their application in research, clinical, and applied markets, with over 8 years in genomics or clinical diagnostics sales, sales management, or market/business development
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time and reside within 1-2 hours of a major US airport
• Proven track record as the first commercial lead in a large region for a startup or new business, adept at independent and self-motivated operations

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of territory strategy and plans that create demand for Ultima sequencing
• Work collaboratively to align strategy and tactics with counterparts in sales, marketing, commercial operations, and service/support
• Deliver quarterly and annual revenue consistent with assigned sales quota and to achieve targets vs defined operating budgets
• Develop and maintain relationships with key customers in region, including KOLs, large/strategic customers, and emerging customers
• Maintain a deep knowledge of the market environment
• Directly drive account relationships and sales to achieve Ultima's sales goals
• Foster connectedness of field-based team, align those around you to company goals, culture, and results
