Summary

Join Scality as a Sales Engineer in Malaysia, serving as the customer-facing technical expert. You will support Account Executives, technically qualify opportunities, present product information, and coordinate proof-of-concepts. Responsibilities include architecting solutions, enabling partner sales teams, and providing training. Success requires experience in enterprise infrastructure solutions, storage, and specific industry verticals. The role is primarily work-from-home, based in Malaysia (ideally Kuala Lumpur).

Requirements

  • Recent success in global, multicultural organizational settings, integrating a dynamic startup culture with an understanding and sensitivity to local business and social practices
  • 5-10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure solutions architecture and/or sales engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage, preferably working on large-scale multi-petabyte solutions, with a track record of understanding customer workflows and applications to design the most suitable storage solution
  • Passion for supporting customers and partners to provide the best solution to a specific need, optimizing technical and price constraints
  • Experience in designing and promoting infrastructure solutions in specific industry verticals, such as Financial Services, Healthcare, Cloud and Telco Service Providers, Media, Government, Education & Research and AI
  • Familiarity with common business tools like Salesforce, G Suite, email, Slack, Microsoft Office products, GitHub, Jira, and Zendesk
  • Moderate Linux expertise and comfort in using a bash shell
  • Must be a Malaysian citizen

Responsibilities

  • Represent Scality in region as a pre-sales engineer supporting local account executives
  • Technically qualify opportunities and determine compatibility between Scality products and the prospectsโ€™ technical requirements
  • Present product roadmaps and information to customers and partners
  • Coordinate proof-of-concepts and develop product demonstrations
  • Architect solutions that meet the specified requirements, including selecting suitable third-party integrations
  • Enable Partner Sales and Pre-Sales teams to pursue, qualify opportunities, and conduct initial customer interactions, ultimately becoming Scality evangelists
  • Support partners in responding to requests for information (RFIs), purchase orders (POs), and questions (Qs) for qualified opportunities
  • Provide SCA training to partners in the region
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Scality technology and its vision
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the relevant industry sector and key competitive technologies
  • Communicate customer requirements to Scality Product Management teams to influence future product development

Preferred Qualifications

All locations in Malaysia will be considered with a strong preference on Kuala Lumpur, as this is a โ€œwork from home officeโ€ position
