Summary

Join Boulay's Client Accounting and Advisory Services department as a Senior Accountant. You will assist clients with their internal accounting needs, performing and reviewing diverse accounting tasks such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. The role involves managing daily transaction accounting activities, client communication, risk identification, and ensuring compliance. You will work with multiple clients and prepare various financial reports. Boulay offers a flexible work environment with offices in Minnesota and a remote workforce across 20+ states. Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in various accounting and other software, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of all areas of the general ledger, along with reconciliations and month-end / year-end close procedures
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to drive client and team meetings
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and analyze client data
  • Ability to effectively delegate, supervise, and review work of less experienced staff

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily transaction accounting activities, including but not limited to
  • Daily Sales, bank, and other account reconciliations
  • Inventory management
  • Accrual management
  • Prepaid management
  • Equity accounting management
  • Accounts receivables and accounts payable management
  • Management of critical client deadlines
  • Payroll process and preparation
  • Expense reimbursements
  • Discuss and explain transactions/processes with clients in a group or one-on-one setting as needed
  • Identify and recognize potential risks, concerns, or issues regarding the client file
  • Maintain accounting records through data entry and file management
  • Prepare complex sales and use tax returns
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to relevant reporting requirements
  • Maintain a chart of accounts
  • Monitor and maintain fixed assets
  • Prepare and review 1099 filings
  • Prepare or assist to prepare financial statements
