Summary

GoFundMe is hiring for a Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for key areas of financial reporting, accounting system ownership, process improvement initiatives, audit and statutory support, and general ledger management. They will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and work closely with external teams. GoFundMe is looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, CPA preferred, 4+ years combined accounting experience including at a publicly-traded company or pre-IPO company, strong experience and knowledge in U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance, experience with an ERP system, NetSuite a plus, advanced MS Excel skills, self-starter ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, excellent analytical and communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, confidence, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a dynamic environment, and a strong drive to continually improve. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA preferred; Experience at a Big Four Firm a plus
  • 4+ years combined accounting experience, including a publicly-traded company or pre-IPO company
  • Strong experience and knowledge in U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance

Responsibilities

  • Accounting Systems - Ownership of key accounting systems’ design, build/configuration, optimization and maintenance to drive team efficiency & enhancements while maintaining compliance and reporting integrity
  • Reporting - Manage preparation of the month-end financial package and quarterly external reporting deliverables. Assist with balance sheet and P&L flux analyses
  • Process Improvements - Scale and implement internal control process improvements and department procedure documentations. Identify areas for optimization and drive implementation of initiatives to support efficiency
  • Audit and Statutory Support - Act as key liaison for external audits and by preparing supporting schedules, locating documents, and responding to inquiries
  • General Ledger - Prepare monthly journal entries for technical accounting focus areas, including goodwill/intangibles, leases, and debt
  • Collaboration - Be a trusted business partner & work closely with external teams & contribute to other departments’ goals and duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with an ERP system, NetSuite a plus
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
