Summary
Join Included Health as a Senior Accountant and contribute to the company's financial success. You will be responsible for monthly accounting close, year-end financial audits, accruals, preparing journal entries, and reconciliations. You will also play a key role in improving accounting processes and other financial operations. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a CPA certification, and 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including both public accounting and startup experience. You will be exposed to various accounting functions and gain valuable cross-training opportunities. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting; CPA required
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience; with a combination of Big 4 public accounting and startup pre-ipo to ipo experience preferred
- Understanding of US GAAP accounting standards, with strong GAAP technical accounting skill-set and broad knowledge of external reporting requirements (some SEC-level experience preferred)
- ERP system experience (Workday a plus)
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Capability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods
- Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment
Responsibilities
- You will perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process
- You will compile and analyze information to prepare journal entries
- You will work with internal teams to ensure accuracy in accruals
- You will reconcile and balance general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- You will collaborate with other departments to gain a working knowledge of operations affecting financial and management reporting
- You will help complete annual tax filings such as Business Property Tax returns for office locations
- You will complete other tasks like accounting and calculating for AP, corporate credit card, and employee travel expense, and commission accruals
- You will participate in the annual audit process by preparing detailed schedules and providing documentation to external auditors, aiming to uphold our record of clean audits
- You will assess and document conclusions around technical accounting processes
- You will be exposed to other accounting functions to allow for cross training
- You will understand the accounting and operational flow of incentives and sales commissions, from policy to payout
- You will calculate and record deferred commission plans, and manage the schedule and amortization of commissions
- You will partner with Sales Operations to ensure completeness of data used to calculate sales commission earnings, accruals and deferred cost assets
