Summary
Join Portoro, a tech-enabled property management company, as a Senior Accountant and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. You will manage bill payments, revenue recognition, and financial reporting, working with enterprise-level ERP systems (preferably Sage). This role requires strong communication skills, collaboration with the global finance team, and adherence to US and international accounting standards. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in various accounting areas, including accounts payable, revenue recognition, and financial reporting, along with proficiency in ERP systems and strong analytical skills. Reporting to the CFO, you will contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, with exposure to various areas such as AP, revenue recognition, and financial reporting
- Experience with enterprise-level accounting ERP systems (Sage preferred; NetSuite or Oracle also acceptable)
- Knowledge of US accounting standards, with international English experience and the ability to work within a global team
- Strong understanding of the monthly close process and ability to manage diverse accounting functions
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end process for bill payments and ensure accurate recording and tracking of expenses
- Ensure the accurate recognition of revenue in compliance with company policies and international accounting standards
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, offering actionable insights and recommendations to support business decisions
- Work with enterprise-level ERP systems to maintain and improve financial operations and reporting
- Ensure compliance with US accounting regulations and standards, including tax filings and other financial reports as needed
- Work closely with internal teams and external auditors to support audits, budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analyses
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or equivalent certification
