Summary

Join Williams Adley as a Senior Accountant and assist in providing accounting support to our client by performing account and system reconciliation, preparing financial statements, and adjusting interim and year-end entries.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting from an accredited university
  • 3 or more years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of FedGAAP, including USSGL Budgetary and Credit Reform Accounting
  • Financial Reporting on Direct Loan and Loan Guarantee Programs
  • Understanding of OMB Circular 11, CFO Act and FASAB Standards
  • Experience with internal control reviews and assessments, business process development, systems validation testing, posting model development and analytical reviews and research
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel (Pivot Tables, Groupings) and Access
  • Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials 8.0 and above
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to perform work that requires attention to detail, analytical ability, and organization

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and independently reviews client financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger
  • Prepare and review financial and statistical reports, analyzing unusual items on financial reports and notifying accounting services team leaders when necessary
  • Assists with projects related to internal controls, legacy system selection, and other consulting projects as assigned
  • Develops and maintains a thorough working knowledge of accounting software packages
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the financial operations of industry specific engagements (i.e. HUD)
  • Independently identifies problem areas early, research technical issues, and proactively resolves issues
  • Develops an understanding of GAAP (FASB/SFAS) in a specific loan industry
  • Completes non-complex and some complex account reconciliations and recording transactions. All facets of the monthly quarterly, annual adjusting, and closing process

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in accounting from an accredited university
  • Willing to work late hours during monthly & quarterly closings
