Summary

Join Redwood Materials as a Senior Commercial Operations Specialist and play a key role in ensuring precise, fast, and professional execution of outbound commercial activities. Collaborate with Product Management and Sales teams to support sales order execution, thriving at the intersection of details and deadlines. Responsibilities include bid and allocation support, sales order fulfillment and execution, and customer and product support. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, advanced Excel skills, and experience in sales operations, business planning, or logistics. A passion for sustainability is a plus. This full-time position offers compensation commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years’ working experience, ideally in sales operations, business planning, or logistics
  • Strong attention to detail — able to spot discrepancies, missing data, or conflicting documents
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working in / learning new supply chain software (CRM, ERP, WMS)
  • Strong communicator — able to translate business needs into action and keep stakeholders aligned
  • Naturally organized, deadline-driven, and able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical skills are required
  • Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including meeting both qualitative and quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance in line with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety gloves, helmets, and eyewear, or additional PPE when required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, including listening and speaking

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and format outbound bids using pricing inputs and historical data
  • Track bid statuses and notify stakeholders of deadlines and outcomes
  • Maintain organized records of pricing, allocation, and customer preferences
  • Collaborate with Planning to understand volume and production
  • Create, manage, and update outbound sales orders
  • Track fulfillment status and ensure on-time delivery with logistics partners
  • Coordinate documentation (BOLs, COAs, weight tickets) needed to complete deliveries
  • Ensure on-time payment and conduct reconciliations when necessary
  • Send and track outbound sample shipments
  • Act as liaison between Product, Sales, Logistics, and Finance to ensure clean handoffs and clear expectations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate's degree preferred
  • Commodity, Metals (mining or recycled), or Battery Materials industry experience is helpful
  • Smart, scrappy, entrepreneurial – having a bias for action and a lot of grit
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!
