Summary

Join Scholar Rock as the Senior Director, Global Value & Access, a critical role in launching apitegromab for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in Europe and other international markets. You will lead the development and execution of global market access strategies, including pricing, health technology assessment, and payer engagement. This entrepreneurial role requires collaboration with various teams across the organization to ensure patient access. Success demands a proven track record of launching rare disease drugs in Europe. The position is preferably based in the EU, but other locations may be considered. You will manage global value and access vendors, resources, and budget, and represent Value & Access on apitegromab Global teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Global or EU-country-level Market Access with a deep understanding of evolving European access, coverage, and reimbursement landscape
  • Track record of success in working cross-functionally to achieve objectives (Marketing, Medical, HEOR, Finance, Key Account Management/Sales, Policy/Advocacy, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of Global market access strategy fundamentals: insights, strategy development, pricing & contracting, health technology assessments, early access programs, value proposition, impact on demand and GTN
  • Strong understanding of ex-US national, regional, and local payers, decision making, processes/procedures, and data and reporting
  • Independent, proactive problem solver with strong written/PowerPoint and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Build effective partnerships within Value & Access (US, European country affiliates) and across the organization – Medical/HEOR, Marketing, Finance, and others
  • Be a collaborative, strategic market access presence. Proactively identify and execute against opportunities to improve patient access to care
  • Collaborate with Global Marketing and Insights team to generate ex-US access, payer, and pricing insights. Maintain up-to-date understanding of country-level reimbursement policies, pricing, access competitive intelligence, health technology assessment, and policy landscape (national, regional, local level, where appropriate). Define implications and actions for Scholar Rock and apitegromab
  • Lead ex-US Value and Access strategy, with ownership over: Global value proposition/dossier, Global pricing framework and bands, launch sequencing/timing and international price referencing, early access programs, distribution, evidence, cost-effectiveness and budget impact modeling, payer negotiation frameworks
  • Serve as the main point of contact for affiliate Value & Access teams. Drive collaboration and communication across countries. Partner with ex-US affiliate teams (e.g., Value & Access, Marketing, Medical, Policy, etc) to localize Global Value & Access strategies and ensure pricing is maintained within appropriate bands. Help define appropriate patient populations. Continuously incorporate country-level insights into Global strategies
  • Manage Global Value & Access vendors, resources, and budget. Develop impactful ex-US solutions and Global collateral for localization by affiliate Access teams. Proactively identify and address country-level needs
  • Represent Value & Access on apitegromab Global teams and support financial and strategic planning processes
  • Effectively communicate insights, strategies, voice of access customers, and implications to leadership
  • Support pipeline and business development initiatives, as necessary
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including to-and-from US/Europe on regular basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees in related healthcare fields
  • Rare disease, neuromuscular, hospital-administered/infusion experience
  • Pre-launch experience at a biotechnology company
