Senior Product Owner

Summary

The job is for a Senior Product Owner at Venafi, a leading Machine Identity Management company. The role involves defining and prioritizing the product backlog, gathering feedback from stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner in a SaaS environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, preferably in a SaaS environment serving B2B solutions
• Technical background with an understanding of software development and architecture
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision making
• Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, ProductBoard, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Translate high-level business requirements into detailed agile stories with acceptance criteria
• Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and ensure the development team understands the requirements
• Continuously refine and prioritize the product backlog to ensure alignment with the company's strategic goals, key stakeholders and customers
• Gather and analyze feedback from stakeholders to inform product development
• Lead discovery and validation calls
• Communicate company’s strategic goals and product vision to development teams
• Create and maintain a detailed, stack ranked and prioritized product backlog (Jira)
• Make decisions on scope and priorities based on stakeholder input and technical feasibility
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Ensure the development process aligns with Agile best practices
• Monitor product performance and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement
• Support to internal teams and customers as needed
