Summary

Join Fivetran's Product + Portfolio Marketing team as a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager and lead strategic initiatives focused on data lakes and AI. You will ensure technical marketing aligns with customer needs and industry trends, driving product growth through go-to-market launches and compelling content. Collaborate with various teams, including Product, Sales, and Enablement, to showcase Fivetran's capabilities and engage key stakeholders. This full-time role is based in Oakland, CA, Denver, CO, or remotely in the US. Responsibilities include content development, market research, cross-functional collaboration, field team enablement, technical expertise maintenance, and thought leadership. Requirements

  • Data industry experience and expertise: Either hands-on work with or a deep knowledge of data engineering with a focus on data lakes, open table formats (e.g. Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg), data warehouses, data catalogs and related technologies (e.g. SQL, dbt, python, Spark)
  • Technical aptitude and a desire to learn more: Knowledge of modern data infrastructure and tools, particularly in relation to data lakes and their role in analytics and storage. Has a keen interest in all things data integration and cloud destinations and a willingness to work on new product areas beyond data lakes as they arise
  • Experience working with multiple different teams: Proven experience partnering and coaching across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Enablement teams to deliver impactful results
  • Strong in-person, virtual, and written communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of adapting messaging for different technical personas and mediums, particularly those working with data lakes and predictive analytics
  • Highly-organized with an excellent project management track record: Strong project management skills to juggle multiple initiatives and projects, maintain proactive communication with stakeholders, and meet deadlines
  • An understanding of our target customers: The ability to gain a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of data engineers, data scientists, data architects, and technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Create technical collateral specific to data lakes technology and AI use cases including architecture diagrams, demos, white papers, blogs, decks and customer-facing content that translates complex technical concepts into clear messaging
  • Develop and edit materials created specifically for product launches, both internally and customer-facing, ensuring accuracy for our technical audience with an interest in data lake adoption and AI applications
  • Conduct research on market trends, customer needs, and competitors in our industry to inform product positioning and messaging for Fivetran use cases and product areas, including but not limited to data lakes and AI
  • Partner with Product to deeply understand product features, technical capabilities, and customer requirements and use cases, to help create content like how-to guides, demo videos, case studies, email campaigns, and pitch decks
  • Partner with GTM Product Marketers, Demand Generation, Regional Marketing, and Sales teams to create campaigns, webinars, and events that highlight data lakes as a critical component of modern data infrastructure
  • Work with Partner Marketing to showcase Fivetran’s integrations with data lake solutions and strategic partners through joint initiatives like webinars and technical hands-on labs
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers (SEs) and Solution Architects (SAs) to deliver technical enablement, training, and content that supports their efforts in positioning Fivetran within data lake use cases with prospects and customers
  • Create training materials and resources to enable the field team on product features and architectures
  • Stay up to date with trends in the data industry with a focus on data integration and on technical advancements in the areas of data lake architectures, AI, hybrid deployments, security, and governance
  • Support analyst relations by providing detailed technical insights and validating product development items with a focus on data lakes as a key element of the modern data stack
  • Represent Fivetran as a product subject matter expert with extensive knowledge of data integration, through in-person events, presentations, and hands-on labs, showcasing our leadership in this area
