Sms & Email Marketing Coordinator

Summary

Join The Penny Hoarder as their Email & SMS Marketing Coordinator and oversee the daily execution of email and SMS marketing strategies. You will be responsible for campaign planning, content creation, and execution, ensuring compliance with best practices. This role involves collaborating with the marketing team, analyzing campaign performance, and optimizing content. While primarily tactical, there's significant opportunity for career growth. The ideal candidate possesses strong copywriting skills, data analysis abilities, and experience with email marketing platforms. Remote candidates working East Coast hours are welcome.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant experience in email and/or SMS marketing
• Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to write engaging newsletter content
• Comfortable using data to drive content strategy
• Familiar with audience segmentation and cohort analysis
• Experience using first-party data to build audiences and grow revenue
• An email and/or SMS marketing portfolio with case studies to demonstrate the above
• Excellent organizational skills: capacity to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
• Familiar with performance marketing metrics such as tracking engagement, conversion rates, and funnel analysis
• Ability to adapt to and learn new SaaS and CRM technologies
• Experience using and creating reports from sales and marketing tools
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain an email and SMS campaign calendar including all daily newsletters, triggered journeys, sponsored emails, and other campaigns
• Create or assist in the creation of well-written, engaging content for all daily newsletters, triggered journeys, sponsored emails, and other campaigns
• Collaborate with designers or use design tools to create email graphics
• Assist leadership in creating content to acquire new subscribers
• Schedule, QA, and send all emails and SMS in our messaging platform
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices and legal requirements
• Assist leadership with monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on campaign performance metrics
• Assist leadership in designing and executing A/B tests to optimize email content
• Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure email strategies align with overall marketing goals

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Iterable or any other major email service platform (ESP)
• Creating reports and drawing insights from platforms such as Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua, Iterable, Tune
• GA certification
• Comfortable with graphic design tools
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Able to communicate with all levels of the organization, including management
• A high level of self-motivation and the ability to work well as an individual and within a team environment
• Help create a positive working environment; seeks out opportunities to learn and grow
• Gives and accepts feedback and guidance with a positive attitude and adjusts accordingly to meet the needs of the team and company
