Staff Accountant

Requirements

• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and practices, including general ledger and account reconciliation processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications; ability to work with formulas, pivot tables, and large datasets
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
• Professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices
• 2+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Record and manage day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee billing and accounts receivable processes, including issuing invoices, recording payments, reconciling customer accounts, and managing collections for past-due balances
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; perform monthly close activities and resolve discrepancies by gathering and analyzing supporting data
• Conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis of general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and identify trends or anomalies
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including income statements and budget-to-actual performance analyses
• Support the Controller in ensuring compliance with internal policies and all applicable local, state, and federal financial and tax regulations
• Prepare audit documentation and support external auditors during year-end audits
• Handle confidential financial and personnel information with discretion and professionalism
• Perform additional accounting-related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with accounting systems; knowledge of NetSuite, Salesforce, and Avalara Tax is a plus
• Experience with accounting software (NetSuite, Salesforce, Avalara Tax a plus)
